Bai Ling Arrested For Shoplifting in LA
February 15, 2008I was alerted of this news a couple of hours ago and I thought this is the chance for me to be the mean celebrity gossip columnist that I should be. You see, my friend has commented that I am too kind, my use of words isn’t as snarky as it should be. But here I am, trying to do a post on Bai Ling, and I can’t be mean to her.
I mean, she IS Bai Ling, a Chinese who made it big in America, who went against her Chinese upbringing by going bald, taunting Caucasians with her nipples and being open about her sexuality. PLUS she is a very active blogger!
She is always so sweet, how can we bad mouth her, even if she is accused of stealing? In this day and time, it looks like if you don’t get nabbed for shoplifting then you are nobody. If you don’t get yourself into a drug rehabilitation centre or a mental asylum, you are not a celebrity. Get what I mean?

Whatever it is, Bai Ling, whose Chinese name means “White Spirit”, has been accused of stealing two magazines and a pack of batteries at a gift shop at the Los Angeles International Airport on Valentine’s Day. Isn’t it sad?
By the way, Bai Ling was in Malaysia in 1999 to film Anna and the King. Hope she didn’t shoplift in Kinta City. This is my last attempt at being mean
