George Takei (Mr. Sulu) First To Marry

George Takei and his long term lover, Brad Altman, were first in line to receive the first ever Californian gay marriage license as soon as it became legal to do so on 17th June, 2008, in California. This is a groundbreaking move by the state of California. While it is not the first state to recognise same-sex marriages, it is the first state to allow out-of-state residents to pick up a gay marriage license.

George Takei and Brad Altman, who have been together for 21 long years, will be holding a wedding on September 14, 2008. Guess who they will be inviting.

Which celebrity will be the next to marry? Will it be Queen Latifah? Which will be the next state to make gay marriages legal?
