Supermodel Christie Brinkley’s Very Public Divorce
June 22, 2008Christie Brinkley, now 54, has won a legal battle to keep her divorce public. She has been separated from her fourth husband, for two years after ten years of marriage.

Peter Cook is an architect, and they have a daughter, Sailor Lee. Peter Cook and Christie Brinkley, also raised Jack Paris, Christie’s son from her third marriage to real estate developer Richard Taubman.

Seriously, one has to wonder what motive Christie has to allow this divorce to be open to the public. Why involve the children and the public to witness what will be like washing dirty linen in public. Is it money? Is it attention and publicity?
Reading about so many celebrity divorces, I wonder if they do know what marriage is. Why do they take marriage so lightly? They divorce as often as they change their underwear. Look at Christie, this is her fourth marriage and you would think that she would have learnt her lessons in her past three marriages, right? But I guess not.
Expect to read more about Christie Brinkley when the flood gates open!

In no way can I blame Ms. Brinkley for the anger she harbors against her cheating husband. Although books have long detailed the extent of what a woman will do when scorned. I believe both sexes respond pretty much the same when their spouse betrays them. As an older man. I can see how easily temptation can cast aside common sence when I or any other man comes face to faced with the chance of having a physical relationship with an attractive, young woman. It has to be every males fantasy. And although most women may deny it, I believe it’s their fantasy too. After all, we are both highly motivated sexual beings and the saying “varity is the spice of life” is more than just a saying, it’s a fact of life. Besides the thrill of it all. I believe other factors are also involved. I believe some men cheat with young women in order to attempt to revitalize their sexual apetite. Maybe, at least in their own minds, recapture their lost youth. Hundreds of years ago, old men used to sleep with young maidens because they believed they would somehow absorb the vitality of the maiden’s youth. I do however believe a bit more than sleeping occurred during this type of therapy. Can you imagine telling your wife the doctor perscribed it? If I ever, ever tried that one. I do believe I would wake up a couple of ounces lighter. I, as I believe most of us, have had the chance to find sex outside of our marriage. And if the only reason you married was for sex. I believe the possibility of it happening is great. If your marriage is one of mutual respect and your spouse is also your best friend. Chances of infidelity occurring becomes extremely small. A beautiful women is a sight to behold. But just like that beautifully wrapped christmas package that every one of has recieved at one time or another. Sometimes, what we find inside, is something we never expected or wanted. In conclusion, As the years pass and the burning hot sex of yesteryear begins to cool. A marriage without mutual respect and friendship AIN’T NO MARRIAGE AT ALL. IT’S A LIVING HELL. A hell, we ourselves, created.
PS. My suggestion to Ms. Brinkley is this. Take the no good bas—d for all you can get. Then go out and find a male friend. You never know, he might also become your lover. I think you’ll eventually find that what’s happening to you right now may very well turn out to be the best thing ever.
June 22, 2008 at 7:51 pmI don’t blame Christie Brinkley for wanting a public divorce. She was humiliated by her husband’s philandering with a teenager and she wants to humiliate him back by exposing his internet porn surfing, and well, yes, his dirty laundry.
They took a vow to love and honor each other and he broke his vow, but wants her to continue to honor her vow and continue to honor him, by keeping the divorce private! Talk about a double standard!
As for her Divorces. She believes in monogamy, and believed her past ex-husbands when they told her that she would be the only one.
Should she stay married to men who cheat on her and get caught several times? Many women do, but she doesn’t.
It takes a lot of courage to leave an unhappy marriage, especially for the fourth time and especially in your 50s!
Congratulations to Brinkley for having the courage to do so and the conviction to stand her ground.

Think of the children instead of just yourself and go for therapy…….do some constructive and go ‘bag some sand’ for the Mississippi residents who’ve lost more than you……..GIVE ME A BREAK AND GROW UP!

June 22, 2008 at 10:00 pmMen almost always “look” elsewhere when sexual allure is placed in front of them; it is different when they actively reach out and “touch” that alluring object. Brinkley has money, fame and had a loving husband or two or three for periods in her life. Had she perhaps been more sexually attentive to the needs of the men in her life (like any up and coming fashion model, she must have perfected the fine art of a fine blow-job long ago) she wouldn’t have been embarrassed by a husband doing an au pair.

I’m sure he is well deserving of this sort of thing. However, I don’t care if you are married to the most attractive woman on the planet…it is my opinion, that 90% (or more) of men are all the same. It’s every man’s fantasy (unless they are gay) to be able to knock of some young (or new and different) piece of ass. Lets face it…the fact is that this is EXCITING. Men have been genetically programmed for this kind of behavior. Trying not to be interested in other women is as alien and against man’s nature and as becoming a priest and attempting to be celebate. You are just trying to fight and supress instinctive behavior. It can be done and frequently it is. However, it just manifests itself in other ways like masterbation. This is just a fact. Also, the fact that this guy actively looks at porn is just a stupid complaint and Christie crying the blues over nothing. The same 90% of men actively look at or have looked at porn at one time or another. Porn is one of the biggest industries in this country. I wonder why? Its a general fact that everyone (particularly men) like a fantasy. Is this bad…I’m not sure. I’m hardly saying this is right or that it is healthy. It is just the way it is, has been and always will be. The media is rife with sexuality and sexual images. This may not be porn, but it fuels the same desires and indiscretions. The rest of you “molokkas” out there that don’t agree with me are deluding yourselves. I draw the line, however, when it comes to pedofiles. Being a pedofile, is a different story all together. I think these people are indeed mentally ill and never matured sexually. They are simply perverts and should be hung by their privates.

Don’t kid yourself Jeanne. I think you are being a bit naive. When it comes to sex, being happy at home still doesn’t necessarily keep a man from straying. I don’t care how beautiful you are and how adept you are in bed. Just the idea of being with someone new or different is the motivator. (It doesn’t even have to be as good as what you already have. There is an excitement about something perceived as new or different. It has nothing to do with love or necessarily being disappointed in the bedroom at home. Little Elvis takes over from Big Elvis…its due to man’s programming.
Also, I think that being catty about a 53 year old woman’s appearance is like shooting yourself in the ass. One day, you’ll be in that 50’s category. I feel sorry for all you women, especially the beautiful ones that feel they have to have all this surgery to stay young looking. You’re fighting a battle you can’t possibly continue to win. Look at what happened to Priscilla Presley. She looks like cartoon character of her former self. You folks need to learn to age more gracefully and accept the inevitable.

This woman is no saint. In addition, when things are positive - she has the ideal marriage, children, life, etc. and when life serves-up some tragedy - she is the perfect victim.
Whatever, grow-up.
